Throwback OOTD: Meet & Greet with Jennifer and Suzie of BBW Miami

It was such a pleasure to meet these beautiful, young ladies. #Jenniferwilliams and #Suzieketcham original cast members of #BasketballWivesMiami. They had a meet and greet in #TrentonNJ a little while back and I was a vendor. I invited the ladies to check out my table and turns out they loved my showcase. Jennifer found a ring, Suzie chose leggings and a bracelet. I’ll have to dig in my photo archive to share the items they chose. Their sense of fashion was obvious as both ladies looked great and of course the fact that they like #ClosetGlam accessories. As for my style that evening, I wore a custom Asian inspired red/black 2-piece ensemble that I custom made. What do you think?

Stuart Weitzman- My New Shoe Obsession

I’ve fallen in love again. With his shoes that is. I get a #Shoegasm and although Stuart Weitzman has been around awhile, I really just started liking his shoes. I’m more obsessed with the pretty ankle T- strap shoes, gladiator sandals and a few others. The colors, fabric designed ones and the fact that you can dye his shoes to match your dresses. Check out a few of my favorites and some Divas with the same feva wearing them; #TiaMowryHardict, #DianeKruger, #EmmaRossum, and #KourtneyKardashian. What do you think?

R.I.P. Tamisha Ridge #MeeshaBoohkeepsewing

I’m about two weeks or so late but I wanna send this shout out to #TamishaRidge #MeeshaBooTaughtMe, I learned so much from this beautiful, young lady. She inspired millions to sew around the world.

Her life was tragically taken by an ex who shot her to death as she slept. She leaves her parents and three children behind.
We need to re-visit the issues of #DomesticViolence but that’s for another time.

I really just wanted to give my RIP, to remind us how short life is. Tamisha Ridge or Meesha Boho as she was affectionately called was our Sewing Guru/Diva. Everyday you could find tutorials on everything fashionable. She inspired us to sew with confidence and ease. She did it all; fashion hauls, thrifting, she sold fabric and had her own Clothing Fashion Lines. My favorite was the ever so popular Wett Baby, her swimwear collection and so much more. She offered advice, tips and simple tricks to make dresses, leggings, peplum, maxi, mini or whatever we requested she covered it. We enjoyed seeing that her children were involved. I remember her daughter was filming, or her Son was crafting his boots or the occasional drop by of the children during the video. We’d be introduced to family, friends and clients who came by for her sewing tutorials. She also gave us spiritual inspiration with words from the scriptures found on every tutorial.

The last thing I remember was that Tamisha was getting ready for the fashion show she was having in which she posted videos of casting, practice and sneak peaks of her clothing lines. Please go check out her work if you are on IG, YouTube or Facebook. She has taught and touched so many. She always had some great tutorials or advice for the eager beginner or novice sewer. She was always inspiring us and left us with that heartwarming smile. Many of us were blessed to be shouted out by her or chatted with her and followed her YouTube channel know how Sad I’m feeling right now. Sad that such a wonderful person has been taken so soon. I believe she’s in Gods arms. I say to my fellow sewers and fashionistas..Keep sewing, tell the world who inspired us so her family knows we care and support them in seeking justice for her unfortunate passing.
She will be missed. She would want us to keep sewing, fashion hauling and posting our work. Keep subscribing to her channel Meeshabooh. If you with me, remember her by hashtagging #Meeshataughtme.
RIP SIS Tamisha Ridge May 14, 2014

Pencil Skirts and Ties, the event held at Ambassador Ballroom. I had a chance to interview some local talented artist who opened up the show. The show opened with #B.Moore whose sexy swag, style and sound crooned the ladies with seduction to his hit song “Again”. It was reminiscent of the 80-90’s Classic R&B. Next was hip hop artist #TrentonPayper. He got the crowd hyped with his infectious new dance song “The Money Dance” the crowd eagerly shouted encore so they could learn this new dance. The night flowed with more local talent until Ms HOLLYHOOD Teairra Mar’i arrived looking fashionably Fabulous as always.
Teairra Mar’i arrived with her glam team/stylist Gianni.
Teairra Mar’i wore this maroon/sheer slinky, sexy little dress with a leather shingle jacket and matching fringe boots.
TS: Who are you wearing tonight?
TM-A new designer out of Detroit called “House of √Član”
TS: How did you choose this dress, what inspired this evenings fashion?
TM: My boots. I always start with my shoes, then my stylist finished the look.
TS: You look fabulous, your makeup, hair and fashion.
TM: Thank you. I love fashion, love checking for up and coming designers.
TS: You’re our girl next door. That’s how everyone sees you. Next door to Hollywood success.
TM: I’m the epitome of HOLLYHOOD! I can be chilling having a great time, I’m your girl til somebody tries to cross me and I have to get hood on them quickly.
TS: rumor mill alert?
TM: okay
TS: I heard you’re reunited with your Ex- Ray J on an upcoming reality tv project?
TM: Me and Ray J go back a long way, something like 10 years.
TS: Ray J is casted for Love & Hip-Hop LA, is that where you guys will reunite?
TM: where did you hear that?
TS: Well I also heard part of the original cast was replaced with the likes of Dawn Richards, Aubrey O’Day ( both are member of Danity Kane) and Ms. Joy ( Bow-Wow baby mama), Omarion and The Game?
TM: Hmmm, sounds like an impressive cast, but I have no comment. I do have a tv project in the works and it has been an emotional ride filming it.
TS: So you’re not gonna tell us if it’s Love & Hip-Hop LA?
TM: You will just have to wait and see (she gives us that girl next door smile).
We continued to chat it up as if we were girlfriends next door catching up. Teairra Mar’i is a doll. She has brains, beauty and talent. (Acting or singing) I had to let her go, the crowd was over anxious for her to belt out her tunes we love. As she rocked the mic, danced with the crowd, I scouted the floor for more fashionable mentions.
Fashionable Mentions:
B. Moore
Trenton Payper
Ciara- #BodyCentral
Kiana- #CharlotteRousse
Dora – #MichaelKors shoes

FYI: A few days after my interview I learned according to #TMz and #TeairraMari was spotted out with #RayJ where an altercation occurred with her and Princess who is Ray J’s current girlfriend during the taping of #LOVEANDHIPHOPLA.
We got our confirmation and can’t wait to see our girl. (I hope Teairra Mar’i won that round) given her on-again off-again relationship with Ray J, I’m sure this will not be their last run in.

Nicole Beharie – A Star on the Horizon

Fox’s Primetime New Addictive Weekly Show Series “Sleepy Hollow” had us hooked at episode 1. While it features two dreamy leading men (Mison, Jones & occasionally seen Gonzalez) the star that shines beside Ichabod Crane is his lovely co-star Nicole Beharie aka Lt. Abby Mills. (2013)
Beharie we’re told had a passion for the arts as a young child. A student at South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville, SC. Beharie’s talent earned her acceptance into Julliard’s Drama School of NY. Beharie also became the first student from the Governor’s school to ever be accepted into Juilliard.

Nicole Beharie if you don’t recall, first stepped on the scene and captured our hearts as she debut in the critically acclaimed film American Violet (2008) alongside Alfre Woodard, Tim Blake Nelson and Will Patton. Later, Nicole Beharie won a lot of respect when she played Ernie Davis girlfriend in the critically acclaimed football film “The Express” (2008). Her other projects that followed include “My Last Day Without You” (2011) and Steve McQueen’s “Shame” (2011) opposite (reportedly) ex-boyfriend Michael Fassbender.
Though she is relatively new to the Hollywood scene as well as the fashion scene, we believe this Actress’s Star is on the Rise. Look for her In the 2014 film “The Keeping Room” alongside Hailee Steinfeld. She is sure to be seen a lot more on TV and Movies. We hope the young, talented actress will continue to keep us glued to the screen as she aide Ichabod Crane to find his son and put the pieces together from his past that has him and Lt. Abby intertwined. As Beharie continues to expand her acting skills we look forward to seeing her flex her fashion sense of style in time to come. One things for sure, we will be watching.
